Dusshera - a unique festival
Most festivals are a celebration of prosperity - new crops, rain, change of seasons; but Dusshera is none of that. It is a festival of tracking.
Every year we get up in the morning and do "puja” and it’s a very unique “puja”. Every year we are all supposed to tell what we have accomplished last year, and catalogue prices of different things like petrol, gold, milk…
I think it’s a great way to measure year on year what we have achieved and what more needs to be done. We also write what all happened last year. Like this year “nanu-nani” came to Bangalore. I am very happy with that fact and mummy is so relaxed. I love my mummy. She is a super woman. Her paintings are so pretty, they are my favorite now.
Most people don’t understand what progress means. We were talking yesterday amongst family - against Avani’s name it was written (in the Dusshera text) that “she made progress in drawing” and she was sad that it was the same thing for last 3 years. Progress means you keep moving forward. It does not mean that if you go slow or stop for a while, that you have not progressed. We all need to constantly remind ourselves - “where we were” and “where we have come”; but most importantly “where we are going”
I am going to work on my patience this year. Mummy Papa have big goals. We are all working very hard.
